10 Best Gourmet Pizzas in Singapore for Vegans and Vegetarians for Dine-in

If we have to narrow down one food that is much loved by all, Pizza would be a strong contender. The Italian classic is a universal favourite and yet vegetarians often feel short-changed by the vast variety of meat pizzas available out there as opposed to their vegetarian counterparts. Singapore however, does decently well when it comes to delivering taste and variety for vegetarian pizza lovers that goes beyond the classic Margherita and Quattro Formaggi (a.k.a. Four Cheese Pizza).

Although vegan pizzas are still quite limited in Singapore, there are several excellent pizzerias that serve more than their fair share of authentic, interesting and creative vegetarian pies. So, here are some of the best vegetarian and vegan gourmet pizzas in Singapore. Happy slices!

And for when you’re feeling too lazy to go out, we also have a round-up of the Best Vegetarian Pizzas for Delivery.

Pizza Express

When we talk about vegan pizzas, Pizza Express has to feature right on top. Kudos to this British chain for launching a full-blown Vegan Menu with pizzas, pastas and their famous Dough Balls, that features not just fresh vegetables but also plant-based meats like Impossible™ and Omnipork. Try the Giardiniera Leggera (S$18, Asparagus, butternut squash, button mushrooms, roasted peppers, cherry tomatoes, olives, passata, mozzarella and garlic oil, finished with fresh basil and pesto Genovese) or go for the meaty Impossible Curry (Impossible™ with mozzarella, passata, red onion, red chilli, garlic oil and kale, served with a lemon wedge). Other veg pizzas include Impossible Teriyaki, Mushroom & Fennel Omnimince, Pomodoro Pesto. Most of the vegetarian pizzas can be done vegan by replacing the dairy cheese with a vegan version. Jamie’s Italian

Vegetarian Pizzas SingaporePimped Margherita at Jamie’s Italian – We love that the focus is on the sauce instead of the cheese

For Italian style pizzas done with panache, Jamie’s Italian is the place to head to. What it lacks in variety it more than makes up for in taste. While the Pimped Margherita (S$29.95, fresh tomato sauce, basil, mini buffalo mozzarella & aged Parmesan) remains our favourite at Jamie’s Forum, the Vivo City outlet serves  Truffle Shuffle (white sauce, fontal, balsamic onions, a higher-welfare egg & black truffle) and Pizza Margherita (crushed tomatoes, basil, mozzarella & extra virgin olive oil). Moreover, with the V card, you can enjoy a 20% discount on these and the rest of their dishes. Win win!

La Nonna

Meaning “The Grandmother” in Italian, La Nonna serves traditional Italian country cuisine that reminds one of food made by one’s, you guessed it, grandmother. Indulge in their signature La Nonna (tomato, mozzarella, parmesan, asparagus, egg and black truffle) or Vegetariana (tomato, bell pepper, zucchini, asparagus, artichoke and mushroom), or go with one of the simpler but yum options such as Margherita or Burrata.

Bella Pizza

The name Bella Pizza means ‘beautiful’ pizza in Italian and the name depicts what the pizzeria sets out to create. Largely Neopolitan in style, the crust has just the right crispiness and texture, with juicy fresh ingredients. Bella offers Red Pizzas, White Pizzas and Folded Pizzas aka Calzones. From the reds, pick the Pizza Ortolana (S$20, tomato, mozzarella and mixed vegetables) or go choose a white from Pizza Mascarpone (mozzarella, mascarpone, mushrooms and black truffle oil) or Pizza Burrata (creamy Burrata cheese, sweet oven roasted tomatoes, fresh basil and oregano). Any of the red or white pizzas can be done calzone style upon request.

Pizza Fabbrica

Dishing up authentic Italian cuisine, Pizza Fabbrica is a class apart with its copper wood-fired oven. Fabbrica’s menu offers veg classics like Margherita, 4 Formaggi, Vegetariana, Burrata di Pomodorini, Spinaci E Ricotta and Funghi Scarmorza (S$24, Fior di Latte, Porcini Mushroom, Scarmorza, Truffle Oil). Their vegetarian pizzas might lack creativity but you’ll be hard-pressed to complain about the taste. You can also indulge in homemade pastas, risotto and a selection of craft beers and quality wines here.
